Perforated Upper Jaw Impression Tray with Bend Handle, Rimlock - Fig.2 Medium
The Upper Jaw Perforated Rimlock Impression Tray is a maxillary-arch dental tray manufactured from surgical stainless steel. Its body is uniformly perforated so that alginate, hydrocolloid, or rubber-base materials can flow through and mechanically lock against the tray wall, reducing pull-away during removal and sharpening the detail of the final cast. A continuous rimlock edge grips the material at the periphery for cleaner borders and more accurate vestibular reproduction. The offset bend handle positions the operator's fingers clear of the anterior teeth during seating and provides a confident grip for stable two-handed removal. Fully autoclavable and reusable, the tray is supplied non-sterile and is stocked by Equate Instruments in graded sizes to fit narrow, mid-arch, and wider adult upper dentitions.

Questions about perforated impression trays
What is a Perforated Impression Tray used for?
An impression tray is a U-shaped or partial holder that carries impression material into the mouth and supports it while it sets against the teeth and tissues. Stock trays come in sizes for upper and lower arches, full arch, quadrant and anterior; custom trays are made for one patient. Perforations, a rim-lock bead or tray adhesive hold the material, and metal trays are rigid and reusable.
What are the types of impression trays in dentistry?
Stock trays (full-arch, partial, quadrant, anterior and edentulous), custom trays made for one patient, and disposable dual-arch trays. Each can be perforated, solid or rim-lock, in metal or plastic.
What is a rim-lock impression tray?
It is a tray with a raised bead around its border that locks the impression material in place as the tray is removed. It is mostly used with alginate.

Perforated Upper Impression Tray No. 5
The double-ended Explorer is a diagnostic hand instrument used by general dentists and hygienists to detect caries, locate surface calculus, and trace restoration margins during routine examinations. Fine stainless-steel tips transmit clear tactile feedback through the shank, letting the operator trace fissures, margins, and furcation entrances without applying excess force. Offset working ends give angled access to anterior and posterior surfaces from one pen grasp. The ergonomic handle is profiled to stay stable during light, repeated probing and dampens hand fatigue across a full exam schedule. Equate Instruments supplies the explorer non-sterile and fully autoclavable for straightforward processing in pouches or cassettes.

Rimlock Perforated Impression Tray - Lower Jaw, Extra Small (Fig.0)
Rimlock perforated impression trays for the lower jaw are dental laboratory fixtures for capturing full-arch mandibular impressions, where the perforated body allows alginate, silicone, and polyether impression materials to mechanically interlock through the holes while the raised rimlock edge prevents the set material from peeling away during removal from the mouth. The anatomical arch form and retromolar extension cover the alveolar ridge and vestibular sulcus, and Equate Instruments manufactures these trays from polished stainless steel with a tapered handle and thumb hole for controlled seating, supplied non-sterile and fully autoclavable for repeated clinical use across diagnostic casts, crown and bridge work, complete and partial dentures, and orthodontic study models.

Perforated Partial Impression Tray L6D Large - Left
This perforated partial impression tray is a rigid stainless-steel tray designed for taking sectional alginate and irreversible hydrocolloid impressions of the left posterior quadrant. The perforations allow impression material to lock mechanically through the tray wall, while the retention rim and buccal wall support an accurate, distortion-free impression when the tray is withdrawn from the mouth. The short flat handle is stamped with the size designation and carries a suspension hole for hanging storage. Built from autoclavable stainless steel, the tray is suitable for repeated clinical use and can be reprocessed alongside the rest of the prosthodontic tray setup. Equate Instruments supplies it non-sterile for in-clinic disinfection and steam sterilisation.
